Funani James Serepong was the Second-born child on Mathule and Kgatleng Serepong. He was born at Lady Selbourne, in Pretoria.
He spend his youth days at Maraba Streets of Lady Selbourne, and that is where he met Mafi Molefe. He married Mafi Sarah Serepong, in 1968 (married for 53 years), and were soulmates for the rest of their lives. He was a dedicated family man, always home with his wife and children.
He started working at Eendrag Pharmacy , then Premiere Pharmacy. He then joined Dubussion Pathologists as a driver. His last area of work was with Excel Engineers, where he served as an Office Manager. He retired in 2015 and has been home enjoying his pension with his lovely wife Mafi Serepong since then. They have enjoyed their travels around the world together, and were a symbol of love.
Ntate Serepong was the member of the Lutheran Church Men’s Leagues and a member of the Choir.
He will fondly be remembered for singing his music notes, sometimes humming them in His baritone voice.
Funani, passed on in his sleep, during his short illness. He is survived by his wife, Mafi, children grandchildren and great grandchildren.
