Beloved Daughter, Sister, and Proud Mother Thato Ngwanankatsa Senamela-Malefetse was born on 5 November 1979 in Daveyton, the second daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Chris and Nomfundo Senamela. She spent her early years in Daveyton and began her schooling in Benoni before enrolling at Max Stibbe Waldorf School in 1989, where she completed her matric in 1997. In 2008, Thato and her former spouse, Zeni Malefetse, were blessed with a son, Khumo Malefetse, whom she adored and loved very much. He was the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with him.
Thato dedicated 16 years of her career to the aviation industry at SA Express, where she thrived in her role, embracing the excitement of travel and exploration. Driven by her adventurous spirit, she joined the management team at Leeto Nomads in 2022, where she continued to make a meaningful impact. Thato had a rare gift—a natural warmth that brought people together, regardless of their backgrounds. She firmly believed in giving everyone the opportunity to express their true selves.
A lover of life’s finer things, Thato embraced every moment with courage, passion, and zest. She lived fully, deeply, and fearlessly, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and joy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Tragically, Thato’s life was cut short on 7 February 2025 in a motor vehicle accident at the age of 45. She is survived by her beloved son, Kuhmo Malefetse, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and countless friends whose lives she touched. Her absence leaves an immeasurable void, and she will forever be cherished and remembered with love by her family and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
